MULLED CIDER 
2 sticks cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. whole cloves
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. water
1 qt. apple cider

Combine cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, sugar and water in 1-quart measure. Cook on stove or in microwave until liquid is reduced to 1/2 cup, about 20 minutes on conventional stove and about 10 to 12 minutes in microwave. Strain and add liquid to the cider. Cook in microwave or stove until mixture is steaming, about 8 minutes conventional stove, 3 to 5 minutes microwave. Serve hot or chill. Makes 5 to 7 servings.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
