WISCONSIN NUT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. lard and butter (half of each)
4 egg yolks
2 tbsp. cocoa, sift with flour
1 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. cake flour
1 c. chopped nuts
4 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix the above ingredients; saving egg whites for last and fold into the cake mixture. Pour into a 9 by 13 cake pan that has been greased and floured and bake 35 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
