HAMBURGER AND POTATO CASSEROLE 
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground meat
2 lg. onions, sliced
2 lg. potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 1/4 c. milk
1 c. sour cream (optional)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Wheaties, crackers or croutons for topping

Cook meat and onions, stirring until tender. Pour into ungreased baking dish 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Layer the sliced potato over the meat mixture. Stir together milk, sour cream, salt and pepper. Pour over potatoes. Sprinkle grated cheese over mixture. Top with crushed Wheaties or other toppings. Bake uncovered 1 hour or until potatoes are tender. Serves 4 to 6.
