MACARONI AND CHEESE 
1 (16 oz.) pkg. elbow macaroni
1 onion, minced
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter
6 tbsp. all purpose flour
4 c. milk
4 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. fresh bread crumbs

Prepare pasta as directed, cooking only 6 minutes; drain. Cook and stir onion in 6 tablespoons of butter until tender. Stir in flour, gradually stir in m9ilk. Cook and stir until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Stir in cheese, mustard, salt and pepper. Mix pasta and sauce in a very large bowl. Pour into 13 x 9 inch pan. Melt remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Stir in bread crumbs. Sprinkle over pasta, bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 8 servings.
