JUBILEE JUMBLES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 c. undiluted Carnation evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugars. Mix in eggs. Stir in evaporated milk and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, and salt and add to shortening. Fold in walnuts; chill one hour.

Drop by rounded tablespoon on greased baking sheet. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 10 minutes. Frost with icing of your choice. Yield: 4 dozen.

NOTE: Shredded coconut, finely chopped dates, seedless raisins, or 6 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate pieces may be substituted for walnuts.
