OATMEAL SCOTCHIES 
1 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. oatmeal
1 pkg. butterscotch morsels

Combine flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour mixture. Add oatmeal and butterscotch morsels. Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 7 to 8 minutes for chewier cookies or 9 to 10 minutes for crispier cookie. Makes about 4 dozen.
