ORIENTAL SHRIMP | |
1 lb. fresh or frozen shrimp in shells 2 tbsp. cooking oil 2 tbsp. catsup 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 2 tsp. soy sauce 2 tsp. dry sherry or cognac 1 tsp. sugar 6 drops bottled hot pepper sauce Thaw shrimp, if frozen. Peel and devein shrimp. Preheat a wok or large skillet over high heat; add cooking oil. Stir-fry shrimp in hot oil 7 to 8 minutes or until shrimp are done. Remove shrimp; drain off oil from wok or skillet. Add catsup, Worcestershire, soy sauce, sherry or cognac, sugar, and hot pepper sauce to wok or skillet; heat to boiling. Return shrimp to wok or skillet; cover and cook for 30 seconds. Serve at once. Makes 4 servings. Serve with rice. |
