OLD TIME SPONGE CAKE 
6 tsp. baking powder
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
4 egg whites
2 c. milk

Sift together baking powder, flour and sugar into mixing bowl. Heat milk to boiling point and add to dry ingredients; mix well. Beat egg whites until stiff like meringue but still moist and glossy. Fold in beaten egg whites an cut back and forth until blended, but do not beat! Bake in ungreased 9"x13" cake pan until golden brown on top and toothpick comes out clean, approximately 30 minutes.
