APPLE BREAD 
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
2/3 c. salad oil
1 egg
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1-2 tsp. cinnamon, optional
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
1 1/2 c. chopped apples

Cream sugar, oil and egg. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla, apples and nuts; mix well. Pour into 2 greased bread pans. Sprinkle with topping. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

TOPPING:

1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. brown sugar

Combine topping into crumbs and refrigerate while you mix the bread.
