TOMATO PIE
10 to 12 biscuits (depending on size)
1/2 to 3/4 stick butter
1 qt. home-canned tomatoes
Sprinkle of nutmeg
1/3 to 1/2 c. sugar

This makes a 9-inch pie. Grease pan with butter. Break biscuits open to make two halves and put them in the oven and brown. Place half of the halves in the bottom of the pan. Pour over the biscuits, the home-canned tomatoes (bought tomatoes will work, I'm sure, but I have never tried them). Sprinkle over the tomatoes 1/3 cup of sugar (some folks may like a little more). Place the other halves of biscuits on top, broken side up. Take about 1/2 stick of butter, or maybe a little more or less, and put a pat of butter on each biscuit half. Sprinkle a small amount of sugar over top (up to 1/4 cup depending upon your taste). Sprinkle with nutmeg (if you like nutmeg sprinkle more heavily). Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until brown. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
