MAMA CLEM'S HOT WATER CORNBREAD 
1 c. corn meal
1/4 c. flour
Dash of salt
Pinch of baking powder
Boiling water, enough to make a thick batter

Wet hands in cold water. Shape into long sticks and fry on top of stove in skillet of hot grease until golden brown.

Awesome! I grew up with fried cornbread, love it. I went by this recipe exactly (but did not add baking powder). I spooned it into skillet and flattened into patties. Turned out perfect! Before, mine never turned out right. I thought you made batter like regular cornbread batter. Not. Gonna make this from now on just like this :) .. Thank you for the recipe. And the good part, it is easy to remember, and easy to double.
