OVERNIGHT MACAROON BARS 
2 c. uncooked quick oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. cooking oil
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chocolate chips

Combine oatmeal, sugar and oil, let stand overnight or 12 hours. Mix in egg, salt and vanilla. Put into a greased 9x9-inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle with chocolate chips; allow to stand 5 minutes. Spread chips to create frosting. Allow to cool but not harden; cut into 3x1-inch bars at this stage. Too cool chocolate will crack, too warm will smear.
