2 sticks butter
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
5 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1 box brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. all purpose flour

Cream butter, shortening, and brown sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder, adding alternately with milk to cream mixture. Add vanilla and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool before removing from pan.
