BISCUITS 
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. lard
1 egg
2/3 c. milk (scant)

Sift dry ingredients together; add lard. Blend together; last, add beaten egg and milk. Don't stir more than to moisten.
