PICKLED OKRA 
Fresh okra, washed
1/2 - 1 pod hot green pepper
1/2 - 1 pod hot red pepper
2 cloves garlic
1 tsp. dill seed
1 qt. white vinegar
1/3 c. canning salt
1 c. water
1/4 c sugar

For each pint jar, place 1/2 teaspoon dill seed in bottom sterilized pint jar, pack washed okra in jars; do not bruise pods. Pack okra standing up. Add other 1/2 teaspoon dill seed to each jar, peppers and garlic. Bring to boil vinegar, salt, water and sugar. Pour over okra and seal jars. Allow to stand two weeks before eating. Chill before serving. Makes about 4 pints.
