DILLED OKRA PICKLES 
Small fresh okra
2 qt. water
1 qt. vinegar
1 c. salt
Dill or dill seed
Red pepper (according to hotness desired)
1 clove garlic for each jar (cut garlic in half)

Wash and pack okra in sterilized jar with garlic, dill and red pepper. Combine water, vinegar and salt; boil 5 minutes. Pour over okra and seal. You can use this recipe for green tomatoes but you need to prick the tomatoes with a needle before putting them into the jar.
