DROP SUGAR COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk

Cream together butter, shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add egg and cream until mixture is fluffy. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Then add to first mixture and add milk.

Drop by teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten with bottom of water glass which has been dipped in sugar. Bake in a 400 degree (hot) oven about 12 minutes. Cool. Yield: about 5 1/2 dozen 2-inch cookies.

These cookies were excellent....melt in you mouth the only thing I did different was I flattened with a snowflake cookie cutter dipped in warm water...took on the image of the snowflake and sprinkled with sugar, blue and regular.
