1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
Few grains salt
3 tbsp. cornstarch

Mix dry ingredients. Add water and cornstarch. Cook to hard ball stage. Pour into well buttered pan. When just cool enough to handle, pick up taffy with hands and pull, then cut into 1" pieces.
