MOTHER'S PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. crunchy peanut butter
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
3 c. sifted flour
Dash of salt

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, beat thoroughly. Stir in peanut butter. Sift in dry ingredients, stir until creamy. Form into small round balls on cookie sheet then press with fork to form crisscross. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 minutes. Makes 8 dozen.
