BEEF PEPPER STEAK | |
1/4 c. Crisco oil 1 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips about 1/8 inch thick 1 med. onion, thinly sliced 2 green peppers, thinly sliced 1 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. cold water 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. garlic salt 1/4 tsp. black pepper Preheat oil in electric skillet, uncovered, at 325 degrees. Add meat and brown. Remove meat to serving dish. Add onion and green pepper slices to skillet and cook until just tender. Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce. Add sugar, garlic, salt and pepper. Pour into skillet with vegetables, stirring until sauce is thickened and clear. Add meat and cook several minutes longer or until heated through. Serve over rice or noodles. |
