1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts

Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
