BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
13 med. to sm. cucumbers, washed and sliced
3 lg. onions, sliced
Garlic
3 1/2 c. sugar
4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. salt
1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed
1 1/3 tsp. turmeric
1 1/3 tsp. celery seed

Put sliced cucumbers and onions in large bowl. In separate bowl, mix sugar, vinegar and all spices together. Do not heat. Pour over cucumbers and onions. Let stand for about 20 minutes. Put in jars. Add 1 clove garlic to each jar. Keep refrigerated. After 7 days, you can use. Will last 1 year or longer in refrigerator.

(Note: Canning jars not needed. Use glass jars from jam, peanut butter, instant coffee, etc.)
