CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRY COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
About 48 maraschino cherries, drained (reserve juice)
6 oz. real chocolate pieces
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk

Mix as for any cookie recipe. Shape dough into small balls, place on ungreased baking sheet. Make thumbprint in each cookie and place a cherry in center of each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. For frosting, cook and stir chocolate pieces and milk over low heat until smooth. Stir in 4 teaspoons reserved cherry juice (more may be added, if necessary). Spoon about 1 teaspoon frosting over each cherry, spread to cover cherry.
