MICROWAVE DOWN-EAST BISCUITS | |
Microwave setting: High - 100%. Microwave cooking time: 1 1/2 to 2 minutes. For 12 biscuits you will need: 1 1/3 c. all-purpose flour 1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp cornmeal 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 c. sour cream 1/4 c. melted butter 1 tsp. dried thyme leaves 1. In a bowl, combine the flour, cornmeal, baking soda and salt. 2. Stir in sour cream. Mix just until a soft dough forms, don't over mix. 3. Pat dough into 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into rounds. Place on a microsafe baking sheet. 4. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with thyme. 5. Microwave at High power for 1 1/2 to minutes. 6. Let rest for 3 to 4 minutes. 7. Split in halves and serve with sliced ham and sliced tomatoes. |
