MARSHMALLOW TREATS 
1/4 c. regular butter
1 (6 to 10 oz.) pkg. regular marshmallows (about 40) or 4 c. miniature marshmallows
5 c. cereal (any kind)
1/2 c. peanut butter (optional)

Measure butter into 3 quart saucepan; melt over low heat. Add marshmallows and cook, stirring constantly until marshmallows are melted and mixture is very syrup. Remove from heat.

Add cereal; stir until well coated. Spread warm mixture in buttered 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Using waxed paper or buttered spatula press firmly into an even layer. Cut into squares when cool.
