NEVER FAIL MERINGUE 
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 tbsp. cold water
1/2 c. boiling water
3 egg whites
6 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix cornstarch and cold water. Add boiling water; cook until clear. Cool. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Beat in cornstarch mixture. Beat until firm peaks form. Add sugar gradually while beating. Beat until stiff peaks form. Add vanilla. Pile on pie, spread to seal edges. Bake at 325 degrees for about 8 or 10 minutes.
