SPICED FRANKFURTERS IN A HURRY 
1 to 1 1/4 lbs. frankfurters
2 tbsp. butter
2 med. onions, sliced
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed
1 green pepper, sliced
2 to 3 stalks celery, sliced
1 can (16 oz.) whole tomatoes with liquid
1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
1/2 tsp. paprika
Dash black pepper
Salt to taste

Cut each frankfurter into thirds. Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a skillet. Lightly brown the frankfurters. Remove and keep warm. Add remaining butter. Saute onions until lightly browned. Add the garlic. Saute 1 minute longer. Stir in green pepper and celery. Cook 3 or 4 minutes more or until tender crisp. Add tomatoes with liquid, oregano, paprika, black pepper and salt to taste. Simmer until heated through. Serve immediately. Good served with noodles or rice.

Thanks for posting this recipe. I have/had this in my "My Great Recipes" collection and have made it for many years, but seem to have misplaced the card!

Just to note, I use brats instead - turns out wonderful. Also I will often add other peppers - red, yellow, orange (depending on affordability). That will change the flavor a bit and adds wonderful color. We prefer eating it on egg noodles. It's a nice, easy dish - great for a quick weeknight supper. And leftovers are really good, as the flavors meld some more.
