SCALLOPED POTATOES (Microwave)
1 1/4 c. milk
5 med. potatoes (sliced 1/8" thick)
3 1/2 tbsp. flour
4 tbsp. butter
Paprika

Scald milk in microwave in 2 cups glass measuring cup, on high power for 1 1/2 minutes. Put half the potatoes in a deep 2 quart glass dish that has straight sides (if the pan is too small the milk will boil over).

Mix flour and slat; sprinkle half of it over potatoes. Dot top with 2 tablespoons butter. Add remaining potatoes and sprinkle rest of flour mixture over potatoes. Pour milk mixture on next and top with remaining 2 tablespoons butter. Cover with a lid or plastic wrap vented at one corner. Microwave on high until potatoes are done, about 14 minutes. Rotate the dish after 7 minutes.

Variation: Layer about 1/2 pound sliced ham between layers of potatoes. Sprinkle 1/4 cup shredded cheese and chopped onion over ham. Top with remaining potatoes and milk.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
