2 1/2 c. sifted self rising cake flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable shortening
3/4 c. milk
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter (1 stick), room temperature

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 cup bundt pan, no spraying.

Combine everything into a bowl big enough to allow room for mixing. Beat 20 minutes with electric mixer at medium speed. Scrape down sides of bowl too. Pour into pan and bake 1 hour or until cake tester is clean. Stand in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove cake from pan. Cool on rack. Serve with ice cream.
