BLACK WALNUT POUND CAKE | |
1/2 lb. butter 1/2 c. shortening 5 eggs 1 c. self-rising flour 2 c. plain flour 3 c. sugar 1 c. cream 1 c. chopped pecans 1 tsp. black walnut flavoring Sprinkle 1/2 cup flour over nuts. Cream butter and shortening well. Add sugar and mix thoroughly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating 2 minutes after each. Add remaining flour alternately with cream, ending with flour. Fold in nuts. Preheat oven at 325°F and bake 1 hour 30 minutes in well greased tube pan (do not open door during first hour of baking). Let cool in pan on rack before removing. Submitted by: Helen Mason |
