LANE CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
4 eggs
3 c. plain flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

FILLING FOR CAKE:

2 c. sugar
8 egg yolks
1 c. coconut
1 c. pecans
1 c. raisins
1 c. wine or cooking sherry

Lane Cake: Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and continue beating. Mix. Add flour and milk alternately until is all used. (Sift baking powder and salt with flour). Add vanilla.

Filling for Lane Cake: Beat egg yolks with sugar. Add other ingredients and cook in upper part of double boiler over water, until thick. Cool and spread on cake. Cover top and sides with cream cheese icing.
