PILLSBURY FRUIT CAKE 
1 egg
1 c. water
1 pkg. Pillsbury Date bread mix
1/2 c. sliced candied red cherries (for color)
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. raisins (soak in rum if you wish)
1/2 c. chopped dried apricots (get moist ones)

Combine egg and water. Add Date Bread mix, then the remaining ingredients. Stir only until moistened throughout.

Put dough into 8 x 4 or 9 x 5 loaf pan, well greased and floured on bottom only.

Bake at 350 degrees for 70 to 85 minutes. Cool. Then wrap in foil and refrigerate a few days before using.

I don't prefer fruit cakes that are too sweet, so my own version is great.
