YUM - YUM CAKE | |
Mix 1 cup of finely chopped or ground nuts with 2 tablespoons of brown sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. Set aside for later use. In a mixing bowl, combine: 1 box Duncan Hines butter recipe golden cake mix 4 eggs 1/4 c. water 1/4 c. sugar 1/2 c. Crisco oil 1 carton sour cream Beat ingredients at high speed for 2 minutes. Pour 2/3 of the batter into a greased and floured Bundt pan (teflon pans do not require greasing). Sprinkle the nut mixture evenly over the batter in the Bundt pan before adding the remaining batter. Bake in a preheated 325 degrees oven for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and let the cake stand in the pan for 45 minutes before turning it out. When the cake is cool, cover with a glaze made of 1 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk, vanilla, lemon or almond extract may be added, if desired. |
