NORWEGIAN KRINGLER 
1 c. flour
1/3 c. butter
2 tbsp. cold water

Mix like pie dough and roll or pat out on ungreased jelly roll pan. 1/2 c. butter 1 c. flour 3 eggs 1 tbsp. almond extract

Bring water and butter to boil. As you take pan from stove, add flour all at once; beat until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time; beat until smooth. Stir in almond extract. Spread on top of dough. Bake 45 to 50 minutes at 375 degrees.

FROSTING:

1 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. milk
1 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. almond extract

Spread on warm pastry and sprinkle with sliced almonds, if desired.
