1 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs. Stir in flour until well blended. Shape into four balls and refrigerate 3 hours or overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees; grease cookie sheets. Roll out dough to 3/8 inch thickness. Cut out cookies and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until the edges of cookies turn brown. Cool on wire racks.
