1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. applesauce
2 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg

Cream shortening, brown sugar, egg and applesauce. Add flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Last add raisins and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 60 minutes. Glaze with frosting while still warm.
