FANCY GRANOLA | |
3 c. rolled oats 1 1/2 c. flaked wheat 1 1/2 c. flaked rye 3 c. raw wheat germ 1 c. soy flour 1/4 c. powdered milk 1 tsp. sea salt 1 tbsp. cinnamon 2 tsp. nutmeg 2/3 c. sunflower seeds 2/3 c. chopped almonds 2/3 c. cashews 2/3 c. sesame seeds 2/3 c. grated coconut 2 tbsp. vanilla 1/4 c. milk 3/4 c. sunflower oil 1 c. honey 2 c. raisins In a large bowl mix together all dry ingredients, except raisins. Then add vanilla and milk. Heat honey and oil together over low heat in a saucepan, just until they blend together easily. Pour mixture over granola and stir and fold so that all the grains are coated. Make sure that no part of the mixture is dry, or granola won't bake evenly. Oil or butter 2 large baking sheets and spoon granola on. The layers should not be more than 1 1/2 inches thick. Place in oven at 325 degrees and set timer for 15 minutes. Stir mixture and set timer for another 15 minutes. Stir again. After 45 minutes granola should be brown, now stir in raisins and turn heat off. Leave oven door ajar and let cool in oven. When granola is completely cool, spoon into jars or plastic bags. Store in refrigerator. |
