BANANA BREAD
1 c. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
3 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. grated orange rind
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. mashed ripe bananas
2/3 c. strong black coffee

Beat in large bowl, beginning with sugar and butter, add eggs one at a time. Add remaining ingredients and beat until light in color.

2 c. white flour 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. ground allspice 2 tsp. ground cinnamon Sesame seeds 1 c. Walnut pieces (optional)

Sift together twice. Add flour mixture to banana mixture alternately. After each addition mix gently to combine, beating tends to toughen and dry a cake. Add nuts; raisins are good here too! Stir in. Grease 2 loaf pans generously and sprinkle each with sesame seeds so that they stick to the buttered sides of each pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 40 to 50 minutes until metal knife comes out clean when inserted. Cool briefly; turn out of pan to finish cooling. Wonderful served plain or with such as honey, cream cheese, apple-butter or other spread.
