CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE AND
FROSTING
 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. solid Crisco
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift sugar and flour together. Bring butter, cocoa, Crisco, and water to boil. Pour over sugar/flour mixture. Then add soda, buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla. Bake at 350 degrees in greased and floured pan for 30 to 35 minutes.

Five minutes before cake is ready, prepare frosting.

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Bring ingredients to boil. Mix well. Spread the frosting over the hot cake leaving the cake in the 9x13 inch pan.
