APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 can applesauce
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
4 c. flour
1 box seeded raisins
4 eggs
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. black walnuts
8 oz. candied cherries
1 c. pecans
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream fat and add sugar gradually. Add well beaten eggs. Flour nuts and raisins to present settling to the bottom.

Blend applesauce and soda together. Mix spices with flour adding applesauce and flour alternated. Mix nuts and raisins last. Place in a loaf pan lined with brown paper.

Place on a pan of water on bottom rack of oven - loaf pans on top. Cook about 2 hours at 275 or 300 degrees F.
