BEST STRAWBERRY PIE | |
1 9" baked pie shell 1 qt. fresh strawberries, washed & stemmed Place whole strawberries in mixing bowl and add 1/3 cup sugar. Stir gently just to coat berries. In saucepan place 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons cornstarch, 1/2 package (small size) strawberry Jello, 10 ounces of 7-up and 12 drops of red food coloring. Mix well and bring to boil, lower heat, stirring constantly and let cook long enough to thicken. Chill. When chilled, place berries in pie shell. Pour thickened mixture over top of berries. Chill 3-4 hours before serving. Serve with whipped topping. |
