CHEDDAR SWISS STRADA 
8 slices dry bread
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1 1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. prepared mustard
Salt and pepper to taste

Slice crusts off bread. Line bottom of shallow 1 1/2 quart baking pan with four slices of bread. Top with half of Cheddar cheese and half of Swiss cheese. Lay remaining four slices of bread on cheese and cover with remaining cheeses. Beat eggs lightly; add milk and seasonings. Pour over bread and cheese; let stand 30 minutes to 1 hour, then bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes.

This dish may be made the day before and refrigerated overnight, allowing 50 to 55 minutes baking time.
