APPLE BETTY 
4 c. sliced, pared tart apples or 1 lb. 2 oz. can pie sliced apples, drained
1/4 c. orange juice
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Dash salt
1/2 c. butter

Mound apples in buttered 9" pie plate; sprinkle with orange juice. Combine sugar, flour, spices and salt; cut in butter until mixture is crumbly; sprinkle over apples.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp. Serve warm with cream or a scoop of ice cream on top. Serves 6.
