We moved from OK to SC. This is a taste of home for us and taste just like Jamil's cabbage rolls.

Keep listening, if these truly taste like Jamie's Tulsa locations the world will hear my heart sing.

Just curious I always tasted sugar. It always seems sweet and I see that missing from this recipe anyone that's made it would they say the same thing?

I grew up in Tulsa and Jamil's is an iconic restaurant there. We visited my dad recently and took him to dinner there. I hadn't eaten there in years and it is still as delicious as it was many years ago. The cabbage rolls are the best I've ever eaten! I cannot wait to make these!

Since the "sauce" does not give amounts for salt/allspice/cinnamon... am thinking compare amounts from the filling mixture... Begin with 1/8 tsp of each....taste and adjust. If not right - then add additional 1/8... Since you have tasted this - you may be able to come up with exactly the taste you are looking for. Can hardly wait to try this... and pass this recipe to friends.

Just printed this off to make for a very good friend that loves them. What I am wondering is how much of the spices are called for in the sauce. The recipe does not say and I want to be sure and make them right.

My first dinner date was at Jamil's and I have never forgotten this great steakhouse and the fanfare that comes before the steak: award winning cabbage rolls, hummus with crudites, ribs, barbecue bologna. When I go to Oklahoma today Jamil's is my first stop. Tables with white linen and waiters in black and white and an ambiance of Sardi's. And by the way, I have never forgotten the gentleman who dined me there.

I have not prepared this yet, but Jamil's was one of my parents' favorite places when I was a kid and I've enjoyed these many times - they are fabulous! I left Tulsa 25 years ago and thoughts of Jamil's still make my mouth water. For some reason, I suddenly thought of those cabbage rolls this evening, did a search - and this recipe appeared - Oh the miracle of the Internet! Cabbage rolls are on the menu for tomorrow night at our house for sure!

Jamil's also served tabouli, barbecued bologna, and a pork rib along with the cabbage roll and humus--all before the fabulous steak.

Jamil's is a Tulsa institution. This famous steakhouse has been around since I was a child, and I am now 56. When I saw that I could actually have Jamil's cabbage rolls I started jumping around like a little kid. I'd struck gold for sure! Each meal at Jamil's is served with humus, cabbage rolls, a vegetable platter and hot bread. If you can still find room for your perfectly prepared steak, then more power to you. You've got to make these cabbage rolls. It's a time honored treasure released to the public. --- Kind of like if Van Gogh were to release a paint by number series. You'd try it once, wouldn't you?

OKC had the one up off Lincoln Blvd but last time I was there, used a Groupon on a date. I could taste the goodness in my imagination going in but BAM!! It was horrible!!!
Service sucked and the food was mediocre at best. Worst part, I used Groupon and thought we were done. Walked out with my date and they chased me out the door (server who barely served and manager lady) demanding $8 for a tip or something. Would NEVER go back there and hope they did OKC a favor and shut it down. Tulsa off I-44 on the other hand... AWESOME!
Would do Christmas dinner with in-laws and get a couple dozen cabbage rolls and taboli to top off each dinner.
