BEST ONION RINGS 
1 egg
1 c. milk
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 c. bread crumbs
6 onions, thickly sliced

Beat egg and stir in milk. Add dry ingredients (except bread crumbs) and beat until smooth. Place bread crumbs in a second bowl. Dip onion rings in batter first, then in bread crumbs.

Fry in oil heated to 365°F, turning once until golden. Drain on paper towels.
