CHINESE BARBECUED SPARERIBS 
3 lbs. pork spareribs
2 cloves garlic, crushed
2 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. catsup
1 tbsp. sherry
1-1/2 c. soy sauce
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. anise
1/8 tsp. fennel

Wash ribs and remove as much gristle as possible. Dry ribs. Mix all ingredients and place ribs in mixture and marinate for 10 minutes or up to 30 minutes. Remove ribs. Place on broiler and broil 20 minutes on each side.
