6 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
4 c. flour
1 tsp. each of cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cloves
1 box raisins
1 c. citron
2 c. blackberry jam
2 c. sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 level tsp. baking soda

Cherries - use own judgment as to how many

Cream sugar, butter. Add beaten eggs. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add alternately with flour and spices. Mix and add rest of ingredients. Bake at 300 degrees for about an hour or until toothpick comes out clean. Bake in stem pan and ice with caramel frosting.

Note: Save a little flour to mix the fruits and nuts in so they will not go to the bottom of pan.
