COCONUT CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. sour milk
1 c. coconut
3 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
4 stiffly beaten egg whites

Sour milk - if sweet milk is used, add 1 level teaspoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon baking soda.

Combine all ingredients but egg whites. Fold in egg whites. Bake at 350 degrees until cake springs back when touched lightly in center.
