FUNNEL CAKES 
1 1/4 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1 egg

Stir together flour, sugar, soda, baking powder and salt. Mix eggs and milk together, then add to flour mixture and mix well. In a heavy skillet, place oil 1 inch deep and heat. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter into a funnel, sealing the bottom of it so it won't run out.

Starting at the outside of a circle, funnel the mixture into the hot grease. Fry until brown. Drain on paper towel and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Eat while warm.
