2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift dry ingredients and add with buttermilk. Drop from spoon onto greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 400 degrees about 8-10 minutes. Watch closely, they should not brown.
